Clean your screen!

Came across this little gimmick this morning, which totally does it for me! Never again will I have to worry about cleaning agents for my computers!

If you prefer cats, they have them as well (without furballs, so if your screen is clean and then gets smudged with furballs, you don't have to get a dog to finish the work). Just a tip: I believe, the dog is a bit for efficient in cleaning as it does the full screen....

Thanks to my colleague, this turned out into a licking fest and there are quite a few dogs cleaning screens now. If you are interested to have a clean screen at all times, you may want to download the screensaver which saves the work of navigating back to my page!

Online shopping can be interesting and fun!

Just surfing along on the net... we all do it... various shopping sites make life a lot easier nowadays! No more running around in malls, queuing, dodging... And! It can be fun!

If you end up shopping on the website of an Australian boot manufacturer that is predominantly known for warm boots, you will have quite a laugh when you shop in the American online shop. This becomes necessary as the UK service only caters to Ireland and Great Britain.

We all know that it is very often necessary to choose a state in the USA as the ZIP codes are not sufficient to locate the final place of delivery. In Europe, ZIP codes are very much sufficient which is why they usually are not mandatory. On this website, the information remains mandatory however and this is where the fun starts.

Living in Luxembourg is pretty easy. You just choose Luxembourg. To make it a bit more exciting, you can choose France as a country and Luxembourg as a state. Let's see if the courier company will be able to figure it out within the promised delivery time or if you get your money back.

For Germany it is not as exciting. However, instead of the correct 16 Federal States you get to choose from 22. Ranging from 14000 citizens (SP Elversberg, also known as Spiesen-Elversberg) to some of the bigger cities in Germany. Living in Munich is especially convenient. Here you can choose between the German and the English spelling. Overall, there are still three actual Federal State names in the list, although Neidersachsen (grudger saxony - honestly... who'd wanna live there?) probably refers to Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony) and if Berlin is actually intentionally mentioned as a state or just a coincidence we may never find out.

For the Austrian citizens life is hard. Instead of all nine regions (apologies, I didn't find an official reference to the Austrian regions) you only get to choose from seven. One is an actual Federal State of Austria. People from Kössen (4200 citizens) are lucky again as they get to choose from two different spellings. After that, it just gets interesting. Yes, thinking about it, I have to admit that Austria and Australia share quite a number of letters. However, Walla Walla, New South Wales and Hobart.... sorry, I truly couldn't find a reference these places exist in this picturesque alpinian country... Other European countries are easier to sort out. If you are Czech, you can be living in the Czech Republic or in state of Pelzen (a.k.a. the city of Plzen which is well known for its excellent beer...). It is fun to look at the almost unlimited possibilities we seem to have! Congrats to everybody who wears soles for souls in Europe! Or, more precisely, if you bought them online, to the delivery man for finding you!

Cologne Zoo

...on a Sunday afternoon... The weather was great (about 20°C), it was blue skies and the question was what to do... Well, having said nothing, off we went to the Cologne Zoo to discover what it is all about. One tip up front: should you ever want to visit the zoo on a sunny Sunday afternoon, the tip is not to look for parking in the immediate surroundings. Once you have managed to go inside, take a right and have a look at who is looking at you... These little guys are sure fun to watch! However, there are over 500 different kinds of animals (lucky for me, only one spider) with different neck lengths . But all are good fun to watch and if the weather is good, there will be lots of action going on. Something we've never experienced before were the interconnected cages in the monkey house. Here, the tip is to look up... I almost got sprinkled on by some monkey who thought it was pretty cool to take a leak outside the glass encased surroundings. After being sure that it would be fun, he really let go. At that point I was happy not to be standing in the same spot anymore! We'll be back for more! I still want to see the piranha feeding...hehehe...
